Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene or ABS is a common thermoplastic polymer used to create lightweight and rigid materials such as pipes, musical instruments, golf club heads, parts or entire car bodies, and toys such as the famous Lego bricks as well as as assembly boxes for electrical and electronic components.

In plumbing ABS pipes are black, while PVC pipes are white, orange or gray.

ABS plastic granules smaller than 1 micrometer in size are used in tattoo inks because they have the characteristic of being particularly vivid.
