The benefits of switching from plastic to packaging solutions designed to optimise materials and performance

Adopting responsible packaging is not only a conscious choice, but also a strategic decision for your company.
Seven Group’s solutions offer an effective combination of high performance, cost optimisation and attention to environmental aspects throughout the product’s life cycle.

Improving your Brand Image

The adoption of environmentally friendly packaging strengthens the company’s reputation, associating it with values of responsibility and attention to the context in which it operates. This helps to build a positive perception among customers, business partners and the media, contributing to improved consumer confidence and loyalty.

Increased customer loyalty

Consumers are increasingly inclined to support brands that demonstrate a concrete and measurable commitment. Adopting responsible packaging helps improve the customer experience, strengthening the bond with the brand and promoting loyalty.

Access to new markets and business opportunities

The growing demand for products and services with low environmental impact allows companies to access new market segments and attract customers who are more sensitive to these issues. In addition, many companies and institutions favour suppliers who adopt materials and practices geared towards protecting the natural balance.

Reduction in CONAI Environmental Contribution (in Italy)

The use of packaging made from paper and recyclable materials allows companies to significantly reduce their CONAI (National Packaging Consortium) contributions. Paper, in fact, benefits from lower contributions than plastic, the cost of which is gradually increasing to discourage its use.

Long-term cost reduction

Adopting responsible packaging can reduce long-term costs through more efficient materials, waste reduction, and access to potential tax incentives or government subsidies. The packaging we handle most often allows companies to reduce the amount of material used during the filling and sealing process.

Competitive advantage and differentiation

In a constantly evolving market, adopting more responsibly designed packaging can become a strategic factor, helping to strengthen the company’s positioning and brand perception.
This promotes greater affinity with consumers and partners who are increasingly attentive to choices related to materials and processes.

Optimise your logistics with solutions designed with attention to materials and performance.

The market is changing rapidly, shifting towards a growing focus on environmental issues, and the adoption of packaging solutions designed to reduce environmental impact is becoming an increasingly important factor for companies.
Stricter environmental regulations and the gradual increase in CONAI contributions for traditional plastics are making it more difficult to maintain operational efficiency and cost control.
In addition, consumers are showing a growing preference for companies that clearly and demonstrably communicate their choices in terms of materials and processes. Delaying adaptation can result in rising costs and a weakening of brand perception.

With Seven Group, you can review your packaging system quickly and efficiently. Our solutions help balance performance, materials and overall costs, even when using certified materials such as FSC® paper or TÜV AUSTRIA-certified bioplastics, ensuring technical standards equal to or higher than traditional packaging.

What about transition costs?

Many companies fear that switching to environmentally friendly packaging solutions will involve a high initial investment; however, with Seven Group, it is possible to plan a path towards a return on investment in the medium to long term.
Our solutions are designed to optimise the use of materials, reduce waste and help contain operating costs over time. Under certain conditions, they may also qualify for tax breaks or incentives under current legislation.

We also offer scalable solutions, designed to adapt flexibly to changes in productivity, whether increasing or decreasing. This approach allows you to spread your investment progressively, limiting the initial impact on your budget and allowing you to optimise productivity according to your actual business needs over time.

Questions?

Seven Group’s packing is designed using recyclable and biodegradable materials from renewable sources (Paper, compostable and/or biodegradable bio plastic, recycled plastic). Every aspect, from production to distribution, is optimized to minimize environmental impact.

No, our sustainable packing is developed to match or exceed the performance of traditional materials. The green materials from which our packing is made reproduce the same end result as traditional fossil-based products, using different technologies. Sometimes the performance is even superior, other times it is a compromise between sustainability and performance (which is also constantly evolving and improving).

Seven Group is committed to providing complete transparency on its sustainable packing. The added value of our products are the above-average performance, but most importantly, the certifications, particularly FSC for paper-based material and TUV AUSTRIA for compostable and biodegradable bio-plastic.

One example is drawstring bags made of compostable and biodegradable bio-plastic: this certified product, to date, only we can supply on the market.

In addition to reducing environmental impact, Seven Group’s sustainable packing can reduce long-term costs through logistical efficiencies, lower environmental taxes, and improving brand image, which can translate into increased sales. The packaging we handle the most often enables companies to reduce the amount of material used during the filling and sealing process.

For example:

  • Paper filling pillows are an alternative to classic bubble wrap or curly paper because air volume is used to protect the product instead of compacted material.
  • Wetted tape allows a box to be closed and sealed with a savings of at least 70 percent in linear meters of tape compared to a classic tape.

Absolutely, we offer fully customizable solutions to fit each client’s specific branding and product protection needs. The limitation many times is the producible minimums, which, in the case of a customized product, are higher than the production minimums of the neutral product.

The time required to implement the transition to sustainable packing depends on the complexity and specific needs of the project. Seven Group offers customized solutions, so each company may have different timelines depending on logistics, packing volume, and required changes.

However, we work closely with our customers to ensure the transition is as efficient as possible, minimizing operational disruption and ensuring that the new solution integrates quickly into the existing workflow.

Transition costs to sustainable packing can vary depending on the type of solutions adopted and the complexity of existing logistics. However, Seven Group offers scalable solutions and customized plans that lower the initial economic impact. Our flexible approach allows new technologies to be adopted progressively, with investments that can be fractionated over time.

For example: we tend to propose single taping units in place of a single end-of-line machine because the latter while having a high productivity once achieved does not allow to increase it, under penalty of buying a new more efficient unit. If it drops in work it is oversized and does not pay for itself.
Working with small individual units for each workstation, allows much more flexibility in the face of smaller and fractionable investments, depending on the ‘increase in workloads that should arise over time

In addition, the optimization of materials and the reduction of waste allow to cut operating costs in the long run, ensuring a profitable return on investment. We are available to evaluate your needs together and propose the most cost-effective and operational solution.

Yes, Seven Group also supports small businesses in the transition to sustainable packing. We offer “scalable solutions” that are well suited to different needs and investment capacities, enabling companies of all sizes to embark on the road to sustainability.

Although our solutions are often designed for more structured business entities, we also offer standardized and affordable products for small businesses. Our team provides tailored advice to identify the most suitable options, optimizing costs and ensuring a positive environmental impact.

In many cases, companies that adopt sustainable packing can benefit from incentives and subsidies.

For example, there are significant reductions on environmental fees, such as the CONAI contribution, for the use of eco-friendly materials such as paper and bio-plastics. In addition, certifications such as BCorp or EcoVadis can pave the way for additional benefits, recognition, or incentives for companies that demonstrate a concrete commitment to sustainability.

Beginning the transition to sustainable packing with Seven Group is simple. Simply contact us for an initial consultation, during which we will assess your specific needs and analyze the characteristics of your logistics. We will then arrange a site visit to your company to better understand the operational dynamics. From there we will develop a customized proposal, including no-obligation testing and a tailored solution. Our team will accompany you every step of the way.

The reorganization of packing locations depends greatly on the type of logistics and specific operational needs of your company. In many cases, adopting Seven Group’s sustainable packing solutions can fit in without major changes.

However, in some situations, changes may be needed to optimize efficiency and ensure a smooth transition. Our team is available to assess your needs and propose customized solutions that minimize any reorganization while maintaining maximum operational efficiency at all times.

If your company’s logistics are already structured and you only need the supply of sustainable packaging, we can offer you without any problem all our products made of recyclable and biodegradable material (Paper, compostable and/or biodegradable bio plastic, recycled plastic)
