Particleboard or chipboard is the name by which wood fiber boards composed of chips resulting from the waste of normal wood processing are commonly referred to.
Chips are mixed with binding materials and then pressed to produce panels; the resulting panels can be of different types depending on the type of chip. Hydrophobizing agents, fungicides, etc. can also be added to the glues.
Its surprising lightness, high stiffness and weather resistance make it a material suitable for many uses.
Dibond panels can be shaped using a simple machining technique. This process, the milling and bending technique, allows for a variety of three-dimensional shapes. Milling operations can be carried out either with a suitably equipped panel saw or with a portable power tool. The reduced thickness at the milling allows easy manual folding of the panel. This simple processing technique greatly reduces the cost of using this material
